Lead Design Engineer - Eaton
Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Lead Design Engineer to lead engineering, procurement, and construction services for high and medium-voltage substations and power distribution projects.
What You’ll Do
Provide design engineering services instrumental to the completion of turnkey projects.
Guide teams of designers and discipline-specific engineers to create complete electrical and civil designs.
Lead design deliverables to maintain project schedule, design budget, accuracy, and submittal completeness.
Drive value-added engineering to deliver a quality product while driving efficiencies.
Lead medium/high voltage designs for substations and MV power distribution.
Participate in site walkdowns to develop proposals for new work.
Develop engineering estimates, scope, budget, and review technical documents.
Maintain schedule and budget and mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications
BS in Engineering or equivalent with minimum seven years of electrical engineering or design experience, or AS with ten years, or twelve years of experience if no degree.
Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
Must be located in one of the desired locations: AL, GA, MS, TX, OK, NM, NC, SC, FL, LA, TN. No relocation offered.
Must not require immigration sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer qualification.
Field experience in testing/commissioning medium voltage equipment.
Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA.

Equipment Specifications, Single line/Three line drawings, Schematics/Wiring/Interconnection diagrams, General arrangement drawings, Conduit/cable plans, Grounding drawings, AC/DC control power drawings, SCADA design, Equipment Testing Procedures/Commissioning plans.
