POSITION OVERVIEW
The Mechanical Lead will assist the Production Supervisor with directing others in the machining, fabrication, production, and/or assembly of structural/pipe fabrication components.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for executing instructions of the Production Supervisor by delegating work to the assembly crew.
Assist in enforcing standards and complying with regulations.
Report defective material or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedule with minimum supervision.
Complete and record documentation as required by specific jobs.
Foster a spirit of teamwork within the department.
In conjunction with the Production Supervisor and EHS Manager, assist in training employees on changes in safety regulations, work policies, and standards.
Ensure timeliness, safety, and quality of material movement.
Responsible for safe work practices, maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring work crews follow safe practices and HSE programs, including Lock‑out/Tag‑out.
Other tasks as assigned by TAS.
JOB SKILLS
Follow established methods and procedures.
Use and be familiar with assembly and measuring tools, interpret visual aids, and be able to perform simple shop math.
Ability to read blueprints and pipe and instrumentation drawings.
Ability to drive forklift, overhead crane, and man lift.
Ability to communicate effectively.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
High School diploma.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Three years of related factory experience.
Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work performed in a shop environment.
Exposed to any number of elements but not disagreeable.
Requires normal vision and absence of color blindness.
Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50 lbs materials.
Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach.
Use of Safety Glasses is required.
Use of earplugs is recommended.
Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day (with a lunch break) and up to 6 days a week.
Ability to work in a non-air‑conditioned environment.
Steel‑toe boots required in Manufacturing Facility.
