We are looking for a
Senior System Administrator
who will manage a high‑end network testing lab at scale, optic and optical engineering testing efforts, interface with Network teams to contribute to the automation framework to enable lab‑as‑a‑service. You should be comfortable at building complex distributed systems that interact with end users at one end and network infrastructure at the other. Prior experience in coding is required and experience in networking is a desired. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. Your excellent judgment and strong communication skills will be invaluable when defining the roadmap for your areas of ownership. You’ll also coach and mentor junior software engineers as you build the next generation of lab‑as‑a‑service.

Responsibilities Co‑create the roadmap for lab‑as‑a‑service and enable scalable network testing. Build and maintain complex distributed systems that integrate with end‑user applications and networking infrastructure. Lead the automation framework for lab integration, code development and CI/CD pipelines. Coach and mentor junior engineers. Translate product requirements into reliable, highly available system designs. Influence product roadmap direction, features, and priorities. Ensure secure, high‑performance networking environments at scale.
Mandatory Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a System Administrator, lab manager, and lead datacenter technician
Experience managing a physical lab at scale and automation interactions
Experience working with data center equipment: racks, PDUs, patch panels, cabling, and optics
Strong understanding of Linux systems and x86 servers
Experience with configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt Stack, etc.)
Experience with building and troubleshooting networks, TCP/IP, switching and routing
Experience managing code repositories and version control
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Excellent judgment to influence product roadmap direction, features, and priorities
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Hardware Engineering or related field
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with network and/or datacenter/cloud automation
Proficiency in Python, Java or another OOP language
Experience building CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of networking device hardware, ribbon, fib
Experience deploying and managing cloud resources
Experience with VM provisioning, usage and management, containers (Kubernetes & Docker)
Track record of designing and building reliable and highly available systems
Frontend and backend development experience
Fluency in routing protocols: BGP, MPLS, VXLAN, Tunnels, OSPF
Master’s / PhD degree in Computer Science or related engineering field
Range and Benefit Information US: Hiring Range in USD from $32.84 to $67.88 per hour; from: $68,300 to $141,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity.
