Manager of Marketing and Communications
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Marketing and Communications who will report to the Chief Growth Officer. This role will lead and support various marketing initiatives and campaigns, including the Make‑Wish Operation Dream Maker campaign, open enrollment communications, and corporate capabilities thought‑leadership programs. The position is hybrid and based in our Herndon office.
Campaign Management
Lead and support the Make‑Wish Operation Dream Maker campaign.
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for various initiatives.
Manage end‑to‑end campaign execution, including planning, budgeting, and performance tracking.
Corporate Capabilities & Thought Leadership
Develop and execute thought‑leadership campaigns with conference panels and other events.
Create and manage content that showcases the company’s expertise and capabilities.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and leverage speaking opportunities.
Coordinate internal communication initiatives across the organization.
Design and edit communication for items such as memos, emails, fundraisers, brochures, newsletters, and other internal publications.
Write, copy‑edit, proofread, and revise communication content as needed.
Support organizational announcements and events, including virtual employee‑wide events.
Apply industry best practices, develop metrics and insights, and report on communication channel performance.
Translate complex processes into simple, engaging materials.
Conceptualize, create, adapt, and manage a variety of communication vehicles and tools.
Content Creation & Management
Oversee production of high‑quality marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, and digital content.li>
Maintain CSA’s intranet site, ensuring content remains current and driving engagement.
Proactively seek compelling stories to align employee work with company strategy.
Support external communications, drafting social media posts, press releases, bylined articles, and thought‑leadership pieces.
Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines.
Manage the company’s website and social media channels to enhance online presence.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with key functional groups (C‑suite, HR, IT, growth, finance, etc.) to ensure alignment of messaging, goals, and audiences.
Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and media outlets.
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on campaign performance and marketing initiatives.
Press & Media Management
Draft, vet, publish, and send press releases following internal tiering.
Advise on key initiative communication planning and internal change‑management efforts.
Manage relationships to WashingtonExec, Executive Mosaic, City Biz, NVTC, and PSC to leverage benefits.
Handle sponsorships and conference coordination.
Requirements
BA/BS in marketing, communication, journalism, or a related discipline.
5+ years of cumulative experience in marketing and communications with a proven track record of successful campaign management.
Strong project‑management skills and the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, creative, and collaborative.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Proficiency in researching and applying best practices of best‑in‑class organizations.
Familiarity with AP and Chicago Manual of Style.
Strong writing, editing, and project‑management skills.
Strategic thinking, connecting communication messaging to company objectives.
A self‑starter who can take a project from idea to implementation.
