As a Credit Risk Executive Director in Commercial and Specialized Industries, you will lead Credit Risk for the Eastern Midwest region. You will cover the states of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. You will manage a high-performing team of 29 risk professionals while overseeing a portfolio of 360 clients, aggregating to $10.4B of exposure across a diversified set of industries, including Consumer and Retail, Industrials, and Business Services.

You will manage a portfolio which is complex, very active, and clients are generally rated non-investment grade and lending exposure in the portfolio covers the full spectrum of unsecured cash flow, secured cash flow, and asset-reliant secured structures.

Your broad and deep understanding of the business, financial, competitive, and industry risks faced by clients in the assigned portfolio; expertise in structuring commercial loan transactions and managing all types of credit risk; and a comprehensive knowledge of leveraged finance principles will be important to your success in the role.

Job Responsibilities

Manage multiple levels of credit risk professionals across geographies, markets, and lines of business

Lead and facilitate a robust and inclusive talent strategy and development plan across the organization

Review credit approval materials, ensure all credit risk policies are followed, and utilize approval authority and / or, where necessary, present and recommend credits for approval by senior management

Lead processes to ensure risk ratings are accurate across the portfolio and reflect a current forward-looking view of the portfolio’s health

Provide early identification and proactive management of deteriorating credits and other problem situations and drive the team to successful outcomes

Maintain a control environment consistent with internal policies

Required qualifications , capabilities and skills

Minimum of15 years Commercial Banking risk experience

Superior credit, leveraged finance, negotiation, loan documentation skills

Strong interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication, collaboration, partnership, and time managementskills

Independently productive; able to operate at a highly effective level with minimal day-to-day managerial direction

Prior management experience leading teams and influencing stakeholders

Completion of a major corporate or investment bank credit training program, or equivalent experience, and a thorough understanding of bank credit policies and procedures

BA / BS degree is required

Preferred

Strong experience with leveraged private equity owned businesses is preferred
