Our Renewable Energy team works with a diverse set of clients—including utilities, developers, investors, and public agencies—to deliver innovative, data‑driven solutions that support grid transformation and renewable energy adoption. We are seeking a Renewable Energy Consultant who will leverage knowledge in the generation industry to support clients in assessing renewable power assets. This role will contribute directly to technical project execution, performing advanced studies and supporting decision‑making through high‑quality engineering and business analysis.

What You’ll Do

Perform a broad range of studies, engineering, and consulting services to support the development, analysis, design, and construction of renewable energy projects (e.g., site selection and feasibility studies, Owner’s Engineer support, independent engineering assessments).

Conduct data analysis and interpret engineering, financial, and economic results to identify technical business implications for client projects.

Analyze life‑cycle costs by developing and incorporating technical assumptions regarding capital, O&M costs, performance estimates, and economic forecasts.

Conduct technical and business‑related risk assessments that evaluate impacts associated with regulatory rules and policies.

Develop and perform detailed financial analyses using various analytical software tools.

Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.

Develop client‑facing deliverables, including presentations, engineering reviews, financial analyses, and contract administration support for renewable system planning and design.

Assist project managers with business development activities, including proposal development and maintaining client relationships.

Mentor and train employees on technical and business aspects of projects and the renewable energy industry.

Support other business lines as required by client needs.

Ensure compliance with company standards, quality practices, and safety policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related degree from an ABET‑accredited program AND 3 years of experience, OR Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business AND 2 years of experience.

Prior experience associated with electric utility operations, planning, or consulting.

Experience with development, design, and construction of renewable generation facilities, specifically wind and/or solar generation, and electric utility systems and their operation.

Ability to execute various renewable energy studies.

Knowledge in standard engineering, construction, and operation techniques, principles, and procedures associated with renewable power generation facilities.

Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem‑solving environment.

Demonstrated leadership skills.

Proven ability to lead, educate, and train a team of consultants and analysts in regards to renewable generation studies.

Ability to independently solve difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Demonstrated critical thinking skills.

Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines and to be effective in on‑site work environments.

Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, including identification of critical path items to ensure deliverable deadlines are met.

Willingness to learn new service offerings as client needs and market changes require new offerings.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Ability to travel.

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Compensation $115,000.00‑175,000.00 yearly. The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations and is based on education, qualifications, prior work experience and location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year‑end incentive bonus program.
