Trigyn’s direct client has contract opportunity for Senior Business Analyst in Baltimore, MD (HYBRID). The particulars of the position are as follows.
Hybrid work (Baltimore, Maryland 21202). Experience working on projects within Public Sector/local Government agencies, with a strong understanding of public sector processes, regulations, and priorities. Knowledge/experience of SaaS solutions, with a focus on financial or billing systems. Mainframe environment knowledge.
Description The client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to lead and support a major data migration project. The successful candidate will play a critical role in migrating financial, billing, and tax data and processes from a legacy Cobalt mainframe environment to a modern SaaS solution.
Key Responsibilities
Data Migration Leadership: Lead and facilitate data migration efforts from a Cobalt mainframe environment to a modern SaaS platform, ensuring accuracy, security, and integrity of financial, billing, and tax data.
Business Process Analysis: Analyze current financial, billing, and tax processes, identify gaps, inefficiencies, and dependencies, and propose optimized solutions for integration with the new SaaS solution.
Requirements Gathering and Documentation: Work closely with stakeholders to capture and document business and technical requirements, including data mapping, transformation rules, workflows, and reporting needs.
Collaboration with Technical Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams, including developers, database administrators, data analysts, and SaaS vendors to design, test, and deploy migration solutions.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between departments and the project team, facilitating clear communication, status updates, and alignment of expectations.
Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute testing strategies, including data validation, system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and postimplementation reviews.
Change Management: Support change management initiatives, including end-user training, documentation of new processes, and ensuring a smooth transition to the new SaaS solution.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience working on projects within local government agencies, with a strong understanding of public sector processes, regulations, and priorities.
Proven experience leading large-scale data migrations, specifically involving financial, billing, and tax systems, preferably from mainframe environments to modern platforms.
Familiarity with Cobalt mainframe systems, including data structures and processing workflows, is highly preferred.
Experience working on projects involving the implementation or integration of SaaS solutions, with a focus on financial or billing systems.
Strong analytical skills for eliciting and documenting requirements, creating process diagrams, and defining data transformation and migration strategies.
Technical acumen: understanding of data transformation, ETL processes, data mapping and SQL queries.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience working with diverse stakeholder groups. Ability to lead workshops, meetings and presentations.
Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall) and experience supporting project delivery milestones and schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification: Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent certification is a plus.
Change management: Experience in change management strategies for technology transitions.
Experience with SaaS solutions related to financial and billing systems such as Oracle ERP Cloud, Workday Financials, or other comparable platforms.
