Excavation Construction Superintendent – Actalent
Lead and manage field crews and subcontractors to ensure smooth daily operations. Oversee subcontractor activities and performance. Coordinate project progress and success in collaboration with the Project Manager and General Superintendent. Attend client meetings and verify that all work aligns with Contract Documents and expectations.
Responsibilities
Plan and optimize crew, equipment, and material schedules for maximum efficiency.
Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential delays or disruptions.
Maintain consistent daily communication with Project Managers and the General Superintendent and submit daily reports, including production unit tracking and time management updates.
Ensure all work meets quality standards and safety protocols.
Understand and enforce company policies across all job site activities.

Advanced plan reading (civil/underground blueprints) experience required.
Experience leading a crew and supervising subcontractors & trades onsite required.
Experience with civil projects, site utilities, commercial earthwork/excavating experience required.
Knowledge of GPS, managing grade, lasers, etc. within earthwork/excavating experience required.
OSHA 30-Hour certification.
Work Environment As a Superintendent/Foreman, you will primarily be stationed in the field working onsite. Typically, there is a trailer setup with office space you would work out of if not walking the site/supervising. The Superintendent will be on job‐sites throughout the week and will be compensated for mileage if traveling more than 60 miles from job‑site to job‑site.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, Illinois.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $48.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
