We are seeking a highly skilled

Aviation Project Manager, Civil Engineering,

to lead complex aviation infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will manage airside and landside civil engineering projects while ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery. This role requires strong leadership, client relationship management, and technical expertise in civil engineering for airports.

Key Responsibilities

Manage aviation civil engineering projects from planning to completion, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants to develop risk-conscious project scopes and fees.

Develop project‑specific plans, quality management plans, and schedules.

Monitor project progress, mitigate risks, and prepare change orders or extra work proposals as needed.

Communicate project status and updates to internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.

Participate in financial and project status meetings to ensure profitability and performance.

Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their needs and ensuring project delivery aligns with expectations.

Prepare progress reports, review invoices, and develop presentations for project updates.

Guide, coach, and mentor project team members to enhance performance and professional growth.

Support marketing efforts, including proposal development, client presentations, and SMART Go/No‑Go decisions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET‑accredited program.

Professional Engineer (PE) license and ability to become registered in applicable states within 3 months.

10+ years of experience in civil engineering project management, preferably in aviation.

Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience

CAPM or PMP certification.

Airside airport design experience (runways, taxiways, taxilanes, RSA improvements) in compliance with FAA guidelines.

Experience with multiple project delivery methods: Design‑Bid‑Build, Design‑Build, P3.

Local experience in Maryland, Virginia, or DC is a plus.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Primarily office‑based (95%), with occasional fieldwork in variable weather conditions.

Some lifting up to 25 lbs may be required.

The office environment is comfortable, with adequate lighting and temperature.
