Echocardiograph Technologist

where you will perform cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician orders using complex ultrasound equipment. You will also assist physicians with advanced echocardiography procedures such as transesophageal echocardiography, trans-catheter echo-guided procedures, pericardiocentesis, and echo-guided myocardial biopsies. You will comply with the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities • Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician orders. • Objectively identify disease or its absence using thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. • Assist with invasive echocardiographic examinations including transesophageal echo, trans‑catheter echo‑guided procedures, pericardiocentesis, echo‑guided myocardiac biopsies, contrast‐enhanced exams, and exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography. • Modify procedures to meet special circumstances and provide clinically useful information on a cost‑effective basis. • Provide shared coverage for stand‑by and call‑back emergency studies in evenings and weekends, and may rotate through staffed weekend shifts. • Maintain compliance with departmental policies and accreditation standards.

Required Qualifications

Oregon Sonographer upon hire.

National Registered Cardiac Sonographer – Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCIV) or National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer – CVIC or National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire.

National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's Degree in Applied Science, Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography from a CAAHPE accredited school.

At least 1 year of experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations, with a minimum of 800 exams using all available imaging modalities.

Pediatric echocardiography experience.

Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices).

Experience with echo‑guided trans‑catheter procedures.

Location & Schedule Providence Portland Medical Center – 4805 NE Glisan St, Portland, OR. Full‑time day shift with multiple shifts available. On‑site workplace. Stand‑by and on‑call on evenings and weekends as required.
