We are hiring a Staff Product Manager to lead our machine learning efforts to understand customers better—who they are, their preferences, and engagement health. This insight feeds into multiple applications, enabling us to deliver a superior customer experience in personalization and marketing. You will own the strategy, prioritization, and buildout of ML models for HBO Max and other WBD streaming products worldwide, helping us scale to more than 100 million customers.
Responsibilities
Define and own the long‑term ML strategy for customer understanding tied to WBD’s streaming growth goals.
Translate company objectives into product priorities that enable personalization, marketing, and engagement improvements.
Own the roadmap for customer‑understanding ML models across HBO Max and global streaming products.
Drive prioritization and execution with Data Science, ML Engineering, and partner PMs to ship scalable, production‑grade models.
Act as the accountable owner for this ML domain, presenting strategy, progress, and trade‑offs to executives and stakeholders.
Build strong partnerships with product teams across Personalization, Growth, Content Discovery, Marketing, and Content Strategy to drive customer and business impact.
Make and resolve key technical, strategic, and business trade‑offs balancing short‑term outcomes with long‑term investment.
Ensure all decisions are data‑driven, transparent, and grounded in measurable customer and business value.
Mentor PMs, TPMs, engineers, and data scientists to raise the bar in ML product management and cross‑functional execution.
Foster a collaborative culture that accelerates decision‑making and increases team and partner productivity.
Deliver measurable improvements in engagement, retention, and churn reduction through ML‑driven capabilities.
Scale ML systems to reliably support more than 100 million global customers and contribute to WBD’s position as a top‑3 streaming platform.
Qualifications
8+ years of product management experience, with significant time spent on ML‑driven products or content discovery systems.
Proven track record of shipping consumer‑facing personalization or recommendation systems at scale.
Strong technical fluency—able to engage meaningfully with engineering and data science on ranking models, data pipelines, and ML evaluation.
Deep understanding of A/B testing methodologies, statistical analysis, and product experimentation frameworks.
Systems thinker who can connect algorithmic performance, UX treatments, and business outcomes.
Excellent communicator who can synthesize complexity for a range of audiences, from executives to engineers.
Experience leading cross‑functional teams in agile environments; familiarity with tools like Jira and Confluence.
Bachelor’s or MS in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred but not required).
