We are seeking a highly skilled
Senior Buyer
to join our procurement team for a large manufacturer of commercial boilers. The
Senior Buyer
will be responsible for managing the procurement of critical components to ensure on-time delivery of parts, while also providing support, training, and mentorship to junior buyers. This role requires a balance of tactical buying, supplier management, and leadership to drive procurement excellence and operational efficiency. Job Location:
Thomasville, GA Key Responsibilities: Manage purchasing activities to ensure on-time delivery of parts and materials for production. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues proactively. Collaborate closely with materials, production, and engineering teams to align supply with business needs. Support and mentor junior buyers through training, coaching, and daily guidance. Serve as an escalation point for complex supplier or material issues. Identify and implement best practices in procurement processes. Contribute to department KPIs such as cost savings, inventory accuracy, and supplier performance. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen supply chain reliability. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred). 5+ years of progressive purchasing/procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing. Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, negotiation, and supplier management. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and influence others. ERP/MRP system experience (IFS, SAP, or equivalent preferred). Certification such as CPM, CPSM, or APICS (a plus).
