Role Scope Open to Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners. The Advanced Practitioners are part of a multidisciplinary team that plans and delivers care for trauma patients from the emergency room to the operating room, surgical floors, critical care units, and outpatient settings. Extensive training and onboarding will be provided for skills including but not limited to management and resuscitation of level‑one trauma patients, first‑assist OR skills, chest tubes, central lines, and other procedures.
Responsibilities:
Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Advanced Practitioners perform routine physical examinations, formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients, develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, provide appropriate treatment for problems within scope of practice, and refer appropriately to physicians for problems outside scope.
Schedule Full‑time, 3x13 hour shifts. Premium differentials offered. Call schedule: No call.
Qualifications Requirements
Unrestricted State of Connecticut medical license (or eligible)
Certified or board‑eligible Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
New graduates welcome to apply
Preferred
2+ years’ experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in a surgical setting.
