Purpose of Position The Specialist Software Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and identifying improvements by planning, implementing, and monitoring software framework solutions using specialized platform knowledge/experience.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Identify and develop product specification, system design, development, and system integration for new and existing software applications using specific platform knowledge (i.e., SAP, ABAP, CAD, API, Syteline ERP, etc.)

Assist senior engineers in the design of new software product concepts and development; create and test product prototypes

Integrate ServiceNow with applications such as Delinea, SailPoint, and other security or enterprise application

Conduct new technology research and concept specifications to influence the design of individual software components

Collaborate with cross-functional areas on products and programs that will contribute to FSI's strategic direction, development, and future growth

Monitor, configure, and improve integration with COTS platforms

Consult with users on problem determination and provide root cause analysis in a timely manner

Provide 24x7 on‑call support, after-hours, and weekend work as needed

Accountable and responsible for the accuracy and completeness of assigned work and results

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience

Minimum Experience

3+ years of experience in a software development role

Proficient development experience in with ServiceNow platform, or similar

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Strong experience and knowledge of object-oriented programming

Solid understanding of Web Development: HTML5 and Angular JS or similar JavaScript libraries

Experience with Web Technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Web Services, etc.)

Experience in API integration and troubleshoot API issues.

Experience with ServiceNow application development including Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, CMDB, Discovery, Asset and Service Request Fulfillment

Experience creating assets (CI), managing assets, with MID Servers, SAMP, discovery troubleshooting, and scripting

Experience creating robust reporting using performance analytics

Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex software application related problems.

Experience using Static code scanning solutions and vulnerability remediation

Strong knowledge of web service models: SOAP, OData, REST

Strong knowledge of JavaScript and JQuery

Proficient experience with 3rd party JavaScript libraries such as Angular JS, Knockout JS, JQueryUI, or similar preferred

Proficient experience with using SQL Server as a backend preferred

Proficient experience with TFS and Git preferred

Solid understanding of testing principles, methodologies, tools, and processes

Strong written and verbal communications skills

Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multi‑task and prioritize workload.
