Project Engineer . This is a
12+ Months Contract
opportunity with long-term potential and is located in
Gonzales, LA (Onsite) . Job ID: 25-89500. Pay Range: $75 - $85/hour. Employee benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage small capital projects from start to finish – from planning and budgeting to construction and startup.
Prepare project estimates, funding documents, schedules, and progress reports using SAP.
Coordinate with engineering, design, and construction teams to ensure high-quality project execution.
Oversee safety and environmental compliance throughout each project.
Support turnaround and outage planning by aligning scope, schedule, and resources.
Conduct and track Process Hazard Reviews (PHRs) and Operational Readiness Inspections (ORIs).
Provide field supervision and technical support during project execution.
Ensure all work meets company standards for safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
Lead safety kickoff and daily toolbox meetings with contractors and plant staff.
Verify contractors understand and follow all safety standards.
Complete daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews and short-term contractor safety forms.
Participate in safe work permit and incident reporting processes.
Ensure all contractors submit an Emergency Action Plan before starting work.
Maintain valid TWIC card, passport, and refinery background clearance.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience
Skills in industrial gas or hydrogen (HyCO/ASU) plant environments.
Safety & Process Hazard Knowledge.
Degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred).
SAP proficiency.
