40 Work Shift: Job Description The Hospital Medicine Department at

MUSC Health – Pee Dee Division , is seeking full-time, skilled Advanced Practice Providers interested in providing adult in-patient care in our facilities. MUSC Health Pee Dee is made up of 3 facilities in Florence, SC; Marion, SC; and Black River (Cades), SC. Hours/Schedule:

7-on/7-off; 7:00am - 7:00pm Patient Population Focus:

18 years to death Expected Training and Credentials: Physician Assistant (PA):

Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant. APRN:

Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. FNP (Family NP):

Completion of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner with prior hospital medicine and/or ICU experience will also be considered. Required Experience:

Must have at least 6 months of hospital medicine experience Preferred Experience:

Minimum of 1 year as a Physician Assistant or FNP/AGACNP in Hospital medicine. ICU experience is a plus but not required. Degree of Supervision:

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant will be assigned a Primary Supervising/Collaborating Physician employed by MUSC and will report directly to this physician. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Currently licensed (or eligible) in the state of South Carolina as a Physician Assistant by the SC Board of Medical Examiners or as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with the SC Board of Nursing. Requires certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). If ACLS is not current, provider must enroll and have received certificate by start date. DHEC and DEA license Job Duties Note:

This section lists direct patient care activities performed by APPs in inpatient settings. Takes comprehensive history and performs physical examinations Evaluates and treats based on history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results per practice guidelines Initiates referrals to other health care providers or consults with the attending or collaborating physician Documents and bills for direct care provided Utilizes current research and evidence-based decision-making in clinical practice Participates in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research Supports accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization Maintains professional practice through participation in professional organizations and continuing education Potential to precept MUSC advanced practice students and support learning of new team members Maintains licenses, certifications, CNEs/CMEs as required by policies and state law Physical Requirements:

Continuous ability to stand, walk, and sit; bend, kneel, climb stairs; reach in all directions; use hands and fingers with dexterity; maintain 20/40 vision (corrected); work in a latex-safe environment; and work indoors. May lift/carry up to 50 lbs unassisted and exert up to 50 lbs of force; occasional dusty or confined spaces. Additional Job Description
