Job Summary Big Sandy Community and Technical College is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Student Recruiter (Admissions Counselor I) to join our team. The Student Recruiter will play a key role in promoting the college in order to attract prospective students and guiding them through the admissions process. This position involves local travel and relationship‑building to increase awareness and enrollment.

Job Duties

Develop and implement outreach strategies to attract prospective students including engagement with high school counselors, community organizations and workforce development agencies to create a strong recruitment pipeline.

Lead and coordinate campus tours and informational sessions for prospective students and families.

Assist prospective students in understanding the admissions process, application requirements and deadlines, ensuring prospects have all the necessary information to successfully enroll.

Track and manage leads throughout the enrollment funnel from initial inquiry to application submission by maintaining consistent follow‑up communication that includes key deadlines and opportunities.

Work closely with academic departments, student services, and faculty to promote academic programs, services and student success initiatives.

Develop materials and messaging that accurately reflects the college’s offerings and collaborate with faculty and staff to highlight unique aspects of the college experience.

Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging recruitment materials, social media content and email campaigns.

Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities, inquiries and applications in the CRM system in order to generate reports and statistics.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s plus two years of relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree

Excellent communication and relationship building skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who have graduated from Big Sandy Community and Technical College.

Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
