Overview
The Diagnostic/X-ray Radiology Technologist 1 performs diagnostic radiographic procedures using stationary and mobile radiographic equipment according to established standards. This position provides basic patient care, processes films, maintains equipment, transports patients, and prepares and maintains documentation in an outpatient or acute care setting. This position's work location is on-site only. Responsibilities
Patient Care Obtains patient history. Educates patients/families regarding procedures, treatment, risk factors, and prevention. Positions patients appropriately for radiographic procedures. Performs radiographic procedures and analysis per departmental guidelines. Develops and evaluates radiographic results for quality (density, contrast, definition, distortion). Applies learned methodologies independently according to policies and procedures. Performs procedures in accordance with policies. Maintains infection prevention standards. Explains procedures and answers patient questions. Prepares, cleans, adjusts, inspects, and maintains equipment. Produces quality images and prepares them with relevant patient information for interpretation. Prepares and maintains documentation, archiving imaging data as required. Collaborates with physicians and healthcare professionals. Modality Specific Performs radiographic procedures using stationary and mobile equipment. Sets up the x-ray room, manipulates equipment, and positions patients properly. Ensures proper image capture for diagnosis and treatment. Processes and develops x-ray films and creates digital copies for review. Quality Adheres to standards affecting patient care and safety, and organizational policies. Performs equipment quality control, troubleshooting, and notifies appropriate personnel. Ensures efficient workflow and maintains supply inventory. Education Participates in creating a learning environment supported by evidence-based practice and research. Focuses on personal development and engages in professional interactions. Participates in ongoing training, seminars, and mentoring. Compliance/Safety Stays current with regulations and company policies. Ensures certifications/licenses are up-to-date. Completes mandatory training and reports safety incidents timely. Performs work safely and monitors the environment for safety issues. Qualifications
Education : Associates of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology - Required Certification & Licensure : Current ARRT Radiologic Technologist certification - Required; AZDHS Certified Radiologic Technologist - Required upon hire; BLS - Required; Fingerprint Clearance Card - Required upon hire and within 90 days. Experience : One year in Diagnostic Radiology - Preferred Note: Employees must understand computer systems and software, as technology is integral to patient care.
