We are seeking a highly experienced, motivated and innovative individual to join us as a Director in the Translational & Clinical Genetics team, part of the broader GSK Human Genetics and Genomics organisation. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and undertake hands‑on analyses to identify, develop and deliver a portfolio of translational data‑driven activities to impact the GSK portfolio. You will have strong expertise in genetics, with particular emphasis on causal inference approaches, and demonstrable experience of integrating genetics with genomics (especially proteomics) and clinical phenotypic data. Your work will have application across therapeutic areas and will inform target discovery, biomarker discovery, disease and mechanistic understanding, indication and patient subgroup selection, and parsing treatment response using precision medicine approaches. The role includes leading a team of direct reports and working in a multidisciplinary, collaborative and scientifically driven environment, interacting with GSK scientists and leaders from a range of functions and external collaborators to advance drug discovery and clinical development. You will identify, establish and oversee collaborations with external institutions aligned with strategic priorities and be encouraged and supported in your ongoing scientific leadership development through presentations, publications, and stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities

Utilize deep expertise in statistical genetics and the integration of genetics with genomic (including proteomics) and clinical phenotypic data to generate at‑scale insights and address targeted translational scientific questions. Provide strategic leadership and hands‑on analytical prowess to identify, develop, and deliver programs of work to impact the GSK drug development pipeline. Work within and lead cross‑functional GSK project teams, with an emphasis on respiratory, hepatology, neurodegeneration, immunology and/or renal disease. Identify, set up and oversee external scientific collaborations. Effectively communicate analysis findings, with expert interpretation, to project teams both within and outside the GSK Human Genetics & Genomics organisation. Work with focus and agility to deliver personal and team deliverables against objectives, demonstrating strong statistical, analytic and critical thinking skills with understanding of the translational context of your work. Stay informed about emerging technologies and methodologies in translational genetics and, in particular, causal inference approaches, with evaluation of their potential and implementation in the organization as indicated. Lead a team of direct reports and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous professional learning within the team. Basic Qualifications

PhD or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, biomedical statistics, computational sciences, bioinformatics or machine learning) with a history of impactful scientific publications and/or presentations. Extensive experience in genetics and conducting analyses that integrate genetics, genomics (particularly proteomics) and/or clinical phenotypic data to address translational questions in drug discovery and development. Expertise and leadership in genetic causal inference approaches (Mendelian randomization) with detailed understanding of emerging methodologies. Ability to drive the development and implementation of new methodologies and approaches to integrate genetics and genomics to answer translational questions in drug discovery and development. Demonstrated ability to understand key scientific questions and identify and develop innovative analytical solutions to answer them and impact the drug discovery pipeline. Strong proficiency in at least one of R and Python, with a track record of writing reproducible and scalable code that abides to FAIR principles. Experience of line management and supporting the professional development of team members. Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences. Preferred Qualifications

Excellent collaboration and partnership skills to work effectively with internal stakeholders across functions. Experience of setting up and overseeing external collaborations. Experience of working in different trusted research environments (TREs). Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in multidisciplinary teams to meet project timelines. Familiarity with the stages of drug discovery and development. Why GSK
