Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) – FI$Cal Project Management

Salary $6,623.00 – $8,290.00 per month (New to State candidates hired at minimum salary)
Job Summary Under general supervision of an Accounting Administrator II, the Accounting Administrator I independently performs complex analytical, technical, and functional accounting duties, serves as a lead consultant on FI$Cal Project Management effort, and supports planning, business operations, interface conversion assessments, training, testing, reporting, contract monitoring, and change management.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare comprehensive reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Lead consultative accounting support on-site and remotely.
Plan and execute interface and conversion assessments.
Provide training, testing, and support for project financial systems.
Monitor contracts, reporting, and change management activities.
Advise key stakeholders on financial issues and solutions.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum eligibility is determined by state examination and required documents.
Pass the Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) exam.
Valid state civil service exam list eligibility or other listed eligibility (e.g., SROA, surplus, LEAP).

Desirable Qualifications
Ability to apply fiscal system principles and analytical techniques.
Experience preparing comprehensive reports and communicating.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills in complex fiscal environments.

Experience with change management and project coordination.
Work Location & Telework Hybrid – worksites and telework as per Caltrans policy.
