Scope of Responsibilities for our Manufacturing Electrical Design Engineer, Control Panels We are seeking a hands‑on Manufacturing Electrical Design Engineer, Control Panels, who will create detailed field wiring diagrams and related documentation as required for manufacturing, assembly, and installation of industrial control panels. The engineer is responsible for wiring and panel layouts, and various production support tasks. They must be electronically skilled, quick to learn, and self‑motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Specific Duties of the Manufacturing Electrical Design Engineer, Control
Design custom electrical control panels for customer‑specific industrial equipment including schematics, panel layouts, and detailed component data for BOMs.
Ensure designs comply with UL508A and other relevant standards and safety codes.
Support the Product Development team by designing and executing test plans to validate electrical components and PCBA prototypes.
Optimize firmware to improve performance and develop new features.
Collaborate with the Production team to implement electrical assembly and test procedures that improve efficiency and quality.
Support the Sales team by providing quoting and technical information for customer review.
Implement ECR/ECO changes to BOMs and schematics.
Develop customer support documentation for installation and maintenance.
Collaborate with service team to provide customer support, including technical calls with customers and occasional site visits for troubleshooting and installation.
Education and Experience Requirements for the Manufacturing Electrical Design Engineer, Control Panels
Associate’s degree in electrical engineering and 3+ years of experience or Bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in producing industrial control panel schematics and panel layouts with CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical preferred).
Understanding of electrical power distribution, motor control, and industrial control systems.
Understanding of electrical standards (UL508A, NEC, etc.).
Experience with ECI M1 ERP software desired.
Ladder logic programming for industrial PLC experience.
AutoCAD Electrical and/or SolidWorks experience a plus.
UL508A MTR certification a plus.
