Registered Nurse – Endoscopy Travel Position

Shift: 5×8 Days (7:00 AM–3:00 PM) or 4×10 Days (7:00 AM–5:00 PM), 40 hours/week
Pay: $2,186/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Job Description ATC Healthcare is seeking a skilled and experienced Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Roanoke, Virginia.
The Endoscopy RN will assist with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCPs, and bronchoscopies, while providing pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care. Scrubbing experience is required. The role also includes scheduled call rotation (four shifts every six weeks and one weekend approximately every nine weeks).
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain procedure rooms and endoscopic equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
Perform scrub and circulate responsibilities for GI procedures including EGD, ERCP, EUS, bronchoscopy, and colonoscopy.
Admit and assess patients pre-procedure; monitor and recover patients post-procedure.
Administer moderate sedation and monitor patients throughout the procedure in accordance with facility and physician guidelines.
Collaborate closely with gastroenterologists, anesthesiologists, and endoscopy technicians to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
Assist with specimen handling, labeling, and documentation per policy.
Provide airway management and emergency response as needed during procedures.
Maintain accurate documentation in the Epic EMR system.
Participate in call rotation and provide rapid response to emergent procedural needs.
Qualifications
Active Virginia RN license or Compact State RN license (required).
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of recent Endoscopy or GI Lab RN experience (required).
Scrubbing experience required.
BLS and ACLS certifications required (PALS preferred).
Experience assisting with advanced GI procedures including ERCP, EUS, and bronchoscopy strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Epic EMR documentation (required).
Strong skills in airway management, conscious sedation, and post-procedure recovery.
Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced procedural setting.
Must be flexible to work at both Roanoke Memorial and Roanoke Community Hospital.
Proof of COVID-19 and Flu vaccination (medical/religious exemptions accepted).
Must live more than 100 miles from the facility (locals not accepted).
