Jason Rogers Williams took office as the Orleans Parish District Attorney on January 11, 2021, and is building a 21st century prosecutors' office with a team of the best and brightest from around the country and a mission of being as smart on crime as the office has historically been tough on crime. It is the mission of OPDA to increase public safety through the ethical, consistent, and zealous enforcement of the law. Job Summary
The Juvenile Court Victim Case Manager provides case management to victims of non-violent crimes committed by juvenile offenders. This role does not work with juvenile offenders and excludes cases involving or interpersonal crimes. Case Managers serve as the primary point f contact for victims and support them throughout the legal process. Key Responsibilities
Serve as the main contact for victims and facilitate communication with prosecuting attorneys. Coordinate meetings to review case facts, prepare testimony, and discuss plea offerings. Explain court procedures, assist with testimony preparation, and attend court as needed. Document all client interactions in the case management system. Assist with Protective Orders (when applicable), LPOR filings, LAVNS registration, and Crime Victim Reparation applications. Connect victims with community resources in Greater New Orleans. Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in social science field and a minimum 2 years of experience in social service provision or criminal justice Completion of 40-hour training Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills. Ability to work with diverse populations. Commitment to the organization's mission and values. Classification
Full-Time, Non-exempt Salary
$37,000 up to $45,000 Benefits
Enrollment in the City of New Orleans health insurance plan 6.44 hours of sick leave and no fewer than 6.44 hours of vacation leave per month (6.44 hours per month = approximately 10 days per year) Enrollment in the New Orleans Municipal Employees' Retirement System Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness program A generous paid holiday schedule EEO STATEMENT
