Job Summary: This role as a Quality Control Associate I, Microbiology in Norwood, MA, is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a STEM degree and 6 months to 2 years of GMP QC microbiology experience. You will be the key player in Environmental Monitoring (EM) and Critical Utilities sampling (WFI, Compressed Gas), ensuring the cleanroom environment is compliant. The position requires strong hands‑on skills with particle counters, viable air samplers, and compressed gas equipment, combined with the ability to manage data using LIMS and other electronic databases. If you are proficient in GMP, microbiology, and aseptic techniques, and are ready to apply your troubleshooting skills to support critical quality systems, this contract role offers vital experience in a regulated setting.

Shifts

1st Shift: Wednesday through Saturday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm

2nd Shift: Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 am – 8:00 pm

2nd Shift: Sunday through Wednesday, 10:00 am – 8:00 pm

Location & Compensation Location: Norwood, Massachusetts

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $30 – $37 per hour

Responsibilities

Conduct Environmental Monitoring (Routine, In‑Process, and EMPQs), WFI Sampling, and Compressed Gas Sampling.

Maintain lab equipment and perform housekeeping tasks.

Write, revise, and follow SOPs, protocols, and reports.

Ensure data entry, review, and trending are performed using LIMS.

Collaborate with internal and external labs for sample coordination and testing.

Troubleshoot equipment and test methods.

Support quality systems records such as deviations, change controls, and CAPAs.

Participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

STEM degree with 6 months – 2 years of experience in a GMP QC laboratory setting, focusing on microbiology.

Hands‑on experience with particle counters, viable air samplers, and gas equipment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, LIMS, SAP, and eQMS.

Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate scientific issues clearly.

Knowledge of GMP, microbiology, aseptic techniques, and general laboratory instrumentation.

Familiarity with relevant FDA, EU, ICH guidelines, and regulations.
