Department of Chemistry at Tufts University
invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of
Chemistry of Materials with Energy Applications .
The Chemistry Department at Tufts is a well-funded, research-active community that values excellence in both education and scholarship. The Chemistry Department and the broader University value collaborative and interdisciplinary research, and the new hire will contribute to the department's expanding strengths in materials research. We are especially interested in candidates whose expertise focuses on the chemistry of materials development and/or characterization and who can foster future collaboration with faculty in Chemistry and also Chemical and Biological Engineering. Candidates should demonstrate the potential to establish a vigorous, extramurally funded, independent research program.
Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses in chemistry related to the candidate's research, particularly in Materials Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Physical Organic Chemistry, or Analytical Chemistry.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field (particularly in Materials Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Physical Organic Chemistry, or Analytical Chemistry) is required. Prior teaching experience and familiarity with modern teaching practices are preferred, though all candidates committed to excellence in teaching are encouraged to apply.
