Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Position Overview
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will lead and manage geotechnical investigations, design foundations and earthworks, and provide technical guidance on a variety of civil and infrastructure projects. You'll work closely with clients, project managers, other senior geotehnical engineers and junior engineers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead geotechnical investigations including field exploration, laboratory testing, and data analysis. Design foundations, retaining structures, slope stability solutions, and ground improvement systems. Prepare and review geotechnical reports, specifications, and construction documents. Provide technical mentorship to junior staff and support their professional development. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on transportation, commercial, and municipal projects. Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors to ensure project success. Support business development efforts through proposal writing and client engagement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred). PE license in Washington (or ability to obtain within 6 months). Minimum 8 years of geotechnical engineering experience. Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation design, and geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, gINT, LPILE, SLOPE/W). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven leadership and project management capabilities.
