About the Role The firm is seeking a
Electrical EIT (Engineer in Training)
to join their growing engineering team. This position is ideal for an early-career engineer eager to work alongside Professional Engineers on municipal and utility-related electrical systems
including power distribution, lighting, controls, and instrumentation for infrastructure projects. Youll have the opportunity to participate in all phases of project development, from concept through construction, while receiving hands-on mentorship that supports your path to PE licensure.
Key Responsibilities Assist senior electrical engineers with the design and development of electrical systems for water/wastewater facilities, pump stations, lift stations, and treatment plants. Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts using
AutoCAD
(Civil 3D or Electrical). Perform load calculations, lighting and power design, and short-circuit analysis under the direction of licensed engineers. Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, construction documents, and specifications. Coordinate electrical designs with civil, mechanical, and structural disciplines to ensure seamless project integration. Support field investigations, testing, and construction phase services as needed. Participate in project meetings, site visits, and client discussions to gain exposure to real-world engineering challenges.
Qualifications Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
required. EIT certification
(or ability to obtain within 6 months). 04 years of relevant experience in electrical design for infrastructure or utility systems. Proficiency with
AutoCAD
(Civil 3D or Electrical) and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and related electrical codes and standards. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Enthusiastic learner who thrives in a collaborative, mentorship-driven environment. Previous internship or project experience in municipal, industrial, or water/wastewater electrical design preferred.
