VersaTech is currently looking for an Audio Visual (AV) Service Technician to support federal and commercial customers in the Washington, DC Metro Area.
In this role as an AV Service Technician, you will provide service-level attention to meet customer needs, with keen foresight and knowledge to predict issues before they arise. Serve as a point of contact for all types of pre- and post-integration service and support. Your ability to communicate regularly and effectively with your customers, teammates, and internal resources will be paramount to your success.
Salary:
$60,000 - $80,000 depending on experience. Discretionary annual bonus based on performance.
Location:
Washington, DC Metro area. Some national travel may be required with advance notice (up to10%).
Responsibilities:
Perform site surveys, inventory, and create as-built documentation for installed systems
Perform Quality Assurance testing and generate documentation on results
Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
Perform preventative maintenance visits to help maintain a stable client-based system
Field installation of control programs (AMX / Crestron/Firmware) - upload and download capability
Setup and troubleshoot various video codecs/video teleconferencing systems
Field service support of networked devices (Routers, IP Protocols, etc.)
Provide end-user client training as needed
Travel to various job sites as required
Qualifications:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
4+ years of experience installing and supporting large-scale audio-visual systems
Experience working with digital video/audio transmission and protocols
Experience working with AV systems, such as Poly, Cisco, Crestron, or Extron
Experience with signal flow, audio visual signal types, connector types & terminations
Experience working with AV Engineers, analyzing blueprints and AV input and output (IO)
Experience in loading and testing control system code and DSP programming
Ability to configure standard system components to client requirements
Ability to work independently for AV testing and troubleshooting
Ability to interpret AV CAD drawings and update with Red Lines
Ability to perform Cable installation, Cable termination, Device installation
Ability to troubleshoot leveraging computer, networking, and communication skills
Ability to read & understand cabling pull schedules, floor plans, ceiling plans, riser diagrams & line diagrams
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective client engagement and exceptional customer service
Ability to train and mentor junior and new team members
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Ability to travel locally to DMV area as needed to client locations and corporate office
Physical Requirements:
May be required to lift up to 75 pounds
May be required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shift
Employees may use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with a government client or as a government contractor
CTS certified
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Technical Field, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
