Overview

The

Ovation Systems Engineer

will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Emerson Ovation control systems within a power generation facility in LA . This includes calibration and repair of critical instrumentation, ensuring safe and efficient plant operations, and supporting digital control system upgrades and cybersecurity compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and maintain

Emerson Ovation DCS

systems and associated instrumentation.

Operate and maintain

Mark VI

systems and associated instrumentation for Steam Turbines Calibrate, troubleshoot, and replace transmitters, switches, probes, and control devices. Support

unit start-up and shutdown

procedures and control room operations. Perform routine and emergency maintenance on plant instrumentation and control systems. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on

O&M and capital projects . Maintain documentation and logs in systems like

SAP

or equivalent CMMS. Assist in

design and implementation

of control strategies and system upgrades. Ensure compliance with

safety protocols , regulatory standards (e.g., NERC, FERC), and cybersecurity policies. Participate in

pre/post job briefs , safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field. Minimum 3 to 5

years of experience

in power plant I&C systems, preferably with Ovation. Familiarity with

PLC systems , SCADA, and communication networks. Strong understanding of

electrical diagnostics , low/high voltage systems. Experience with

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

is a plus. Preferred Skills

Vendor relationship management and technical liaison experience. Knowledge of

cybersecurity frameworks

for OT environments. Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Wage Data Per State Requirements

Salary range for this position is $140,000 - $190,000.

The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
