Responsibilities

Review and sign tax returns and projections for corporations, partnerships, individuals, and trusts, including complex multi-state filings.

Communicate with state and federal government agencies regarding client tax notifications and correspondence.

Provide guidance and support to tax staff and team members in relation to tax and software inquiries.

Assist in the collection of documents for state and federal audits.

Ensure the timely completion and filing of all tax returns, extensions, and relevant documentation.

Ensure prompt payment of all tax planning-related obligations.

Identify and research tax issues related to client transactions, offering informed solutions.

Mentor staff to achieve their personal and professional objectives.

Participate in client meetings alongside partners to foster and maintain strong client relationships.

Be prepared to work extended hours as necessary.

Undertake other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications for Success

Comprehensive knowledge of tax regulations and concepts pertaining to individuals, C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, estates, and trusts.

Strong understanding of the tax return workflow with the capability to adapt as needed.

Proficient in identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex issues, conducting research, and applying critical thinking to implement tax strategies in light of new legislation.

Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to perform efficiently under deadlines.

Proficient in CCH Axcess/ProSystem software.

Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Outstanding interpersonal skills, displaying a professional and approachable demeanor.

Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and contribute wherever necessary.

Educational and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business discipline, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.

A minimum of 5 years of experience leading a team of tax professionals.

Over 7 years of relevant tax experience within a public accounting firm or family office.

Significant experience in real estate and partnership tax compliance and consulting preferred.
