Hill House Home
Hill House Home is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our New York team, reporting directly to the Director of Finance. This is a hybrid position, working from our Soho Offices 3-4 days per week. This position will partner with the Finance team to support system and process improvement, prepare combined financial statements, and execute financial close and reporting processes.
What You’ll Do:
Assist in the preparation of combined financial statements including the Balance Sheet, Statement of Income, Statement of Changes in Stockholders’ Equity and Statement of Cash Flows
Assist monthly and yearly close processes and ensure it is completed in a timely manner with the proper accruals and other journal entries, bank reconciliations, fixed asset and depreciation reconciliations, reporting and account review and analysis (such as cost of goods sold, inventory, sg&a)
Support in budgeting and tracking processes
Assist in the review of daily transactions including general ledger and bank entries
Work with various internal departments and external parties to ensure that all activity is recorded in the general ledger in a timely matter
Run ad‑hoc financial reports, budgets and other analysis including project‑specific profitability, accounts payable aging and accounts receivable aging
Support leadership in completing special projects and analysis requests
Maintain strong and effective internal controls, continuously improving processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency and ensure compliance with GAAP
Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual audit as well as external tax support to ensure compliance
Who You Are:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
4+ years of related experience in corporate accounting or bookkeeping
Experience at a high‑growth company preferred
Previous experience in a Fashion, Lifestyle, &/or CPG preferred
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks) and Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles and procedures
Ability to self‑start, roll‑up the sleeves and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment
High degree of accuracy and keen attention to detail
Strong oral and written communication skills
Compensation for the role will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience. The estimated annual compensation for this role is $85‑110k
