Shift:

Hours for this position are 5:55am-6:00pm.

The Pasteurization Tech 1 High Temperature Short Time (HTST)

Ensure proper product rotation of raw dairy products and verify with lab personnel whether incoming ingredients meet quality standards prior to starting any pasteurization functions.

Possess knowledge of, and perform all sanitation duties in raw, blending, and pasteurizing areas.

Perform pasteurization of all fluid products and ice cream.

Perform all duties associated with standardization of raw products.

Perform batching and blending for all fluid products and ice cream.

Perform all daily pasteurizer operational duties including but not limited to: start-ups, washouts, product flushes, product changeovers, shutdowns and CIPs (clean in place).

Document all legal requirements for pasteurization process.

Identify and tag storage tanks for product mix in process.

Ensure refrigeration and agitation is activated for product mix in process.

Communicate to manager and/or supervisor all equipment malfunctions and notify the HTST Team Leader, manager and/or supervisor of any unusual events.

Perform periodic tear down inspections of equipment and replace worn parts, if necessary.

Input work requests into the Maintenance Planning (MP2) System, if necessary.

Perform sanitation duties in batching/blending areas including but not limited to: CIPs (cleaning in place) and manual cleaning of equipment.

Responsible for utilizing downtime to ensure all items on the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) are completed on time.

Communicate status of HTST process to HTST Team Leader, manager and/or supervisor and oncoming shift Pasteurizer Operator to ensure a smooth transition between shifts.

Partner with Processing Manager to ensure associates new to the department are trained and evaluated in performing job-related tasks and assignments.

Must be able to, as required, develop daily processing schedule, and generate this schedule for HTST reports.

Partner with Lead HTST Operator to ensure associates new to the department are trained and evaluated in performing job-related tasks and assignments.

Batch Preparer

Obtain and verify dry ingredient requirements from Recipe Management System.

Procure dry ingredients from dry storage personnel and stage ingredients at blending station.

Obtain fluid dairy ingredients tank identification from laboratory personnel and set batch controllers for proper ingredient amounts for batching.

Ensure that ingredients are on-hand and staged for the on-coming shift.

Connect the proper fluid ingredient tanks and withdraw correct batch amounts.

Add dry ingredients per proper procedure to ensure the formulation meets quality specifications and parameters.

Record all necessary information and documentation during formulation process.

Record all necessary information relating to ingredient lot numbers.

Communicate the status of the blending process to department Lead HTST Operator and or/oncoming relief personnel at the end of shift.

Perform periodic tear down inspections of equipment and replace any worn parts, if necessary.

Input work requests into the Maintenance Planning 2 (MP2) System, if necessary.

Perform sanitation duties in batching/blending areas including but not limited to: CIPs (Clean In Place) and manual cleaning of equipment.

Responsible for utilizing downtime to ensure all items on the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) are completed on time.

Must be able to test wash and sanitizing solutions per sanitation manual to ensure quality standards and specifications are met.

Must be able to document and/or record sanitation results in accordance with established corporate and regulatory guidelines.

Responsible for ensuring that all unused dry ingredients are returned to the dry storage area in proper (sealed) condition for storage.

Maintain adherence to work hours scheduled specifically starting, ending, lunch and break schedules

Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations and safety guidelines

Be accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles

Perform all other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

The employee is required to talk and/or hear in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are high (PPE required).

The employee is required to wear mandated PPE based on assigned job area.

The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an manufacturing environment for 8+ hours.

The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks.

Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks.

The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment.

Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required.

Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.

Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or push/pull 50 pounds on a regular basis.
