About the Role We're looking for a talented and driven Motion Designer to help shape how Rokt moves as a brand. You’ll play a key role in defining and evolving our motion identity—bringing clarity, emotion, and energy to every story we tell.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong conceptual thinking with expert‑level motion craft. You’ll lead high‑impact motion projects from concept through delivery, collaborate closely with brand, marketing, and product teams, and develop systems, templates, and workflows that scale motion across the organization. You’ll also manage external motion partners and help ensure consistency and quality across all moving touchpoints.
At the core, we’re looking for a designer who believes motion isn’t just about animation—it's about meaning. Someone who uses timing, rhythm, and movement to express brand personality, tell stories, and create a cohesive experience across every channel.
Responsibilities
Design and produce high‑quality, on‑brand motion assets for marketing campaigns, product storytelling, and brand experiences.
Lead the creative development and execution of key motion projects that define Rokt's kinetic identity.
Translate Rokt's brand system into motion principles, behaviors, and toolkits that scale across teams and channels.
Build and maintain motion templates, libraries, and workflows to empower other designers and ensure brand consistency.
Manage and art‑direct external vendors or motion freelancers, ensuring creative excellence and alignment with brand standards.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Brand, Product, and Marketing teams to elevate storytelling through motion.
Explore and integrate emerging tools—including AI and automation—to expand creative possibilities and improve efficiency.
Advocate for best practices in motion design, storytelling, and craft excellence.
Requirements
2–5 years of professional motion design experience (agency, in‑house, or studio) or equivalent portfolio.
A strong portfolio that demonstrates conceptual thinking, storytelling, and motion design craft across brand and digital platforms.
Deep proficiency in After Effects and Premiere, with strong skills in Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite. (Jitter experience a plus.)
Experience with Lottie files and animation formats native to the web and digital experiences.
Strong understanding of animation principles, timing, pacing, and composition.
Experience creating scalable motion systems, templates, or brand guidelines.
A strong sense of visual hierarchy, rhythm, and narrative structure.
Excellent attention to detail and consistency across every frame and transition.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience working with or directing external vendors or freelancers.
Knowledge of 3D tools (Cinema 4D, Blender) or sound design is a plus.
Curiosity about AI and new creative tools to enhance storytelling and workflow efficiency.
Benefits
Become a shareholder—every Rokt'star gets equity in the company.
Enjoy catered lunch every day and healthy snacks in the office; join the gym on us!
Access generous retirement plans like a 4% dollar‑for‑dollar 401(k) matching plan and fully funded premium health insurance.
Dog‑friendly office.
Extra leave (bonus annual leave, sabbatical leave, etc.).
Work with the greatest talent in town.
See the world! We have offices in New York, Seattle, Sydney, Tokyo, and London.
We believe we're better together. We love spending time together and are in the office most days (teams are in the office 4 days per week). We at Rokt choose to create a company that is as diverse and inclusive as the world we live in by attracting, growing & keeping the best talent.
