Job Description The salary for this position is between $72,000- $89,000. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include market, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Saks Global Properties & Investments includes Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus flagship properties and represents nearly 13 million square feet of prime U.S. real estate holdings and investments in luxury markets.

You Will Be As a Specialist of Public Relations and Celebrity at Saks Global, you will support a dynamic team of PR pros on all press initiatives that elevate the company through strategic media relations, earned coverage, brand partnerships and more. As a creative self-starter, you will lead and execute on high impact press projects, always aiming to drive external brand awareness and positive positioning, as well as internal efficiency and organization. You will liaise with top-tier editors and maintain strong press relationships, in addition to supporting executives at buzzworthy events.

What You Will Do

Draft press releases, media alerts, executive bios, executive quotes, pitches and more

Assist in PR support for special events (some evenings and weekends as required by event schedule), as well as dedicated support for senior executives and talent at press events

Proactive press outreach to generate meaningful news cycles and support execution of launches, announcements, press events and more

Produce new talent recommendations while also forecasting how talent can strengthen the brand's short- and long-term goals

Foster meaningful relationships with members of the media in key areas—women’s fashion, men’s fashion, beauty, accessories, entertainment, trade and more—including print, broadcast and digital

Create newsworthy ideas to advance the company’s storytelling and positive press

Create press summaries and results’ recaps

Liaise between the PR team and various internal teams as required, including events, social media, marketing, merchandising, creative and more and attend internal/external talent, brand, press and partner meetings

Refresh and maintain press talent, stylist and agent lists for team

What You Will Bring

Excellent attention to detail, strong communication and multitasking skills

Strong understanding of traditional media, emerging media and social media platforms and trends, with experience leveraging press to enhance and bolster brand goals

Strong understanding of fashion markets and awareness of the top-tier press supporting each and all markets

Experience pitching top-tier press and securing positive coverage

Results oriented, must be willing to take ownership of all assigned responsibilities

Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines, with minimal supervision

Strong team player and positive "can-do" attitude

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field of study

Minimum of two years in a PR role, agency or in-house

Must have impeccable written communications skills (writing test will be required)

Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with a working knowledge of Cision and other PR tools

Flexibility in schedule (open to working evenings and weekends as required by event schedule)

Preferred Qualifications (nice To Haves)

Strong understanding of the global retail industry and how PR interacts to and within the industry to create news cycles

Experience staffing a press interview with a brand spokesperson

This position is in person located in New York, NY with 4 days in office by default (Monday through Thursday), Fridays remote, and with flexibility to manage personal needs as they arise
