Job Summary Do you have experience with Information Technology (IT) Network systems? Do you have any IT Network certifications? Come join our team of IT professionals. All you need is experience managing, troubleshooting and maintaining Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and Information Technology systems and services. This position will also be responsible for maintaining mission‑critical networks in optimal operational performance, installing end‑user software/hardware, computer imaging, troubleshooting issues, and problem‑solving complex technical systems utilizing advanced networking technologies.
Job Duties
Troubleshoots complex hardware and software problems in support of end‑users
Installs, configures and upgrades client workstation operating systems and applications
Conducts adds, moves, changes, preventative maintenance, and repairs on telephone systems
Supports and administers Cable Television (CATV), Digital conferencing, and Internet Protocol (IP) or Analog surveillance cameras
Creates, modifies, moves, and deletes user accounts in conjunction with customer service
Plans, tests, and implements Local and Wide Area Network development specifications
Initiates and enforces network security via passwords, anti‑virus software, and intruder detection programs
Prepares reports and develops technical implementation plans
Attends training classes, seminars and keeps abreast of current industry trends
Drives on State business
Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Enhance and maintain operating systems and related software to optimize computer performance
Plan and conduct extensive technical surveys
Consult on issues and requests from end‑users
Be self‑motivated and perform duties unsupervised
Selective Preference(s)
Network certification (i.e., CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Solution Expert Certification (MCSE))
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a networking environment and technical training covering data communications principles, electronics and LAN and WAN technologies
Four (4) years of on‑the‑job training in a networking environment, telecommunications or data communications environment with coursework in a relevant area
Pre‑Employment Requirements Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and a drug test. If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class‑appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance. In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter. All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E‑Verify).
