Position Summary The Fitness Center Coordinator will assist in the overall management of the UAMS Fitness Center, develop and implement education and awareness fitness programs.
Responsibilities
Coordinate group fitness program, including all communications with instructors and members on schedule changes, substitute requirements, etc. Maintain monthly group fitness schedule and distribute appropriately to instructors and members. Develop and present lectures on fitness and wellness related topics as assigned by manager.
Coordinate communication and marketing efforts as they relate to the entire UAMS employee and student population.
Assist with fitness center membership recruitment efforts.
Assist with day‑to‑day operations and other duties, projects and assignments as directed by the Fitness Center Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required in fitness, exercise science, exercise physiology, athletic training, or kinesiology.
One year fitness center experience required.
Certification for personal training by one of the following: ACSM, ACE, NSCA or NASM required. Additional group exercise instructor certification is a plus.
