Job Summary The Multi-Modality Technologist 2 performs duties related to two modalities, which may include performing procedures with related techniques, and/or producing images for the interpretation by, and at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner.
Essential Functions
Performs duties for two modalities within the imaging and/or cardiovascular technology job families. (ex: XR, CT, MRI, ARRT, RDMS)
Meets continuing education or clinical requirements as required by regulatory standards.
Operates equipment, accessories and is knowledgeable in workflows, procedures and processes of two modalities.
When appropriate, selects imaging/sequences with consideration given to approved protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.
Obtains patient's clinical history and appropriate lab work ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner. Use of POC device for Lab work.
Applies safety principles with a focus on the two modalities to minimize risk to patient, self and others that may affect the patient’s safety, damage the equipment, or affect the image quality.

Education
High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Associate's Degree (preferred) – For imaging modalities, preference is from an ARRT accredited institute or of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or of an approved School of Ultrasound/Medical Sonography.
Required Licensing & Certifications
Certification and Registration with ARRT or RDMS or CNMT or CCI or ARDMS (required)
Required to be competent or registered in 2 of the following and obtain certification within 12 months:
Bone Densitometry (BD)
Breast Sonography (BS)
Radiologic Technology (R)
Computed Tomography (CT)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR)
Ultrasonography (S)
Nuclear Medicine (N)
Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)
Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI)
Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI)
Mammography (M)
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS)
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS), or ARRT–Vascular Sonography (VS)
Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire; ACLS required prior to direct patient care in Cardiology units)
State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is performed)
Experience
