Job Description As a
Sr. Audit Recovery Auditor , you will utilize analytical and forensic email review skills to audit merchandising negotiations and recover missed funding for the most complex merchandising vendors. You will leverage in-depth knowledge of all merchandising concepts, recovery industry knowledge, and vendor funding processes to ensure all recoveries are captured (including vendor agreement changes, gross vs net impact, core returns, devalues, pricing, and other over‑and‑above funding negotiations). You will negotiate and communicate flawlessly with merchandising and vendors to resolve claims and recover all vendor funding dollars due to AutoZone.
Responsibilities
Assist the Senior Manager with the annual audit startup in the US and Mexico, including data extraction, building, and testing for the Vendor Funding Audit Tool.
Update the Vendor Funding Tool for all static and live datasets and test for maximum performance.
Capture all additional data necessary to perform vendor audits and build email cases for the US Audit.
Partner with Manager to build and develop working relationships with 3rd‑party audit teams in the US and Mexico, including indirect spend.
Attend meetings with 3rd‑party teams during all stages of the audit process for US, Mexico, and indirect spend.
Provide all necessary documentation and deliverables to 3rd‑party teams.
Onboard analysts, research claims, and coach direct reports on processes and procedures used in Vendor Funding audits.
Draft correspondence for manager review and assist direct reports with drafting all other correspondence.
Additional Abilities and Responsibilities
Ability to synthesize complex and diverse information and translate business needs into technical requirements.
Excellent eye for detail to identify trends and patterns in data used for VF tool validation and vendor reviews.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills for claim presentation, discussion, and resolution.
Drive to continuously innovate and improve processes to increase efficiency and accuracy in VF review.
Creative and strategic thinking with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships across the company.
Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and generate creative ideas to improve processes and performance.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree (BBA or BA) in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related field; MBA preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in specialized forensic recovery audit, utilizing analytic and forensic skills to audit merchandising negotiations and internal systems.
Tech Savvy: High proficiency with Data Analytics tools including Access, Excel, Rocket Shuttle, SQL Management Studio, SAS, Veritas Discovery Accelerator, Documentum, PeopleSoft, Arctera, and Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery and Looker).
Organizational Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to develop ad hoc analytical tools and numerical models of complex operations systems.
