About the Job Stembridge Taylor LLC, a small firm that specializes in employment law with a related practice in business law and litigation, has an immediate need for an experienced litigation paralegal based either out of the firm’s primary Atlanta office or its secondary office in the Athens area. The ideal candidate has 3-6 (or more) years of experience as a litigation paralegal, including in both the state and federal court systems, has excellent written and oral communication skills, is highly organized and efficient, and can work independently and proactively. We are seeking a hard-working candidate to join our five-person team.

Duties This individual will provide support and administrative assistance to the managing partners and associate attorneys as necessary. This includes but is not limited to:

Assist attorneys with ongoing litigation and other matters, including drafting correspondence with clients and opposing counsel, drafting and reviewing pleadings, motions, and discovery templates, and filing documents in both state and federal courts

Review and prepare documents for production during discovery

Prepare exhibits for court filings, depositions, and (occasional) hearings and trials

Create, organize and manage electronic files for client matters, including by ensuring that all correspondence is properly saved and well organized

Calendar and monitor litigation, EEOC, and discovery deadlines

Ensure timely issuance of legal hold memos

Draft, send, and monitor responses to subpoenas

Maintain effective communication with clients through timely status updates, obtaining necessary documentation, and addressing questions as needed

Requirements

High school diploma / college and/or paralegal certificate preferred

At least several years of experience working as a litigation paralegal, preferably in a law firm

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge and advanced use of Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat

Familiarity with PACER and CM/ECF federal court electronic access

Familiarity with PeachCourt/Odyssey state court electronic access
