EMERGENCY AND CONSULTATION LIAISON TELEPSYCHIATRIST Northwell Health – Manhattan, New York

Northwell Health Department of Behavioral Health seeks full-time or part-time

Board Certified/Board Eligible Telepsychiatrists

to join our team at our office in Manhattan, New York.

Telepsychiatry is a rapidly evolving, innovative approach to providing access to care. Using videoconferencing technology, doctors can provide consultation and diagnostic services to patients anytime. Already used extensively in research settings, telepsychiatry is a growing modality that can help providers bridge large distances and bring cutting‑edge care to underserved populations.

Telepsychiatry ensures the emergency departments and med/surg departments throughout our system will always be equipped to manage a patient in crisis who needs psychiatric care and support. Through the use of two‑way audiovisual technology, a dedicated Behavioral Health Counselor and a Telepsychiatrist are available 24/7 to assess and assist with care decisions for the patient, reducing waiting times and improving the overall experience.

Unique Opportunity

Work 12‑hr shifts on a state‑of‑the‑art academic 24/7 Telehealth Service

“Virtual” Psychiatry Service consulting to Adult & Pediatric Emergency and Med/Surg Depts.

Fully supported by dedicated Behavioral Health Counselor and clerical/technical staff

Optimized office environment located in Midtown Manhattan

Only 12 shifts/month for full time

Part‑time (6 shifts/month) overnight position available with compensation differential

Academic appointment, teaching, and leadership opportunities

Requirements

Must be BC/BE and licensed in NYS

Superior computer and EHR skills, Emergency Psychiatry experience preferred.

Must be able to assess ED and CL patients of all ages

Part‑time overnight position must be 6‑shift/month commitment

Full‑time position must be able to work minimum 1/3 of shifts on weekends and overnights
