Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Lead Security Technicians to oversee the installation, programming, and commissioning of advanced commercial security systems including access control, CCTV, and alarm systems. This position involves both hands‑on technical work and team leadership to ensure successful execution of large‑scale projects. It is a contract‑to‑hire opportunity with ongoing industry training and growth potential.
Job Responsibilities
Installation of Security Systems (Cameras, Maglocks, and Card Readers).
Installation and troubleshooting of various Access Control components such as panels, readers, strikes, mag locks, etc.
Installation and troubleshooting of IP and analog cameras and NVRs.
CCTV client software installation (PC and mobile) and configuration such as adding / deleting cameras, setting recording schedules, retrieving footage, etc.
Access Control interface experience (adding / deleting credentials, setting door schedules, configuring access levels, etc.)
IP networking (switches and routers, configuring port forwarding, etc.).
Testing of installed equipment (card readers, cameras, alarm points, etc.).
Programming and commissioning of security systems (Cameras, Access Control, Alarms).
Installation and termination of security low voltage cabling (22 / 4, 20 / 4, CAT 5 / E, CAT 6).
Termination of CAT 5 / E and CAT 6.
Dress and route cable from IT closets to device locations (Cameras, Maglocks, Card Readers).
Build out Security equipment racks.
Cable pathway installation (J-hooks, D-rings).
Cable management (dressing and labeling).
Utilize computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; CCTV and access control systems; media storage.
Read and follow blueprints set for installation.
Must be able to teach / train end user (the Customer) on how to use the system upon completion of the installation.
Follow written and oral communication displaying professionalism with colleagues and management.
Follow safety guidelines and protocols (Proper PPE, clean up jobsite, OSHA).
Management
Manage teams to effectively complete large‑scale commercial projects.
GC / Client management experience.
Conduct safety meetings.
Order appropriate materials as necessary
Necessary Labor Forecasting.
Blueprint changes. Submit change orders to Project Manager
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
5 years of commercial Security installation.
5 years of Access Control installation.
3 years of IP addressing and troubleshooting.
Programming and Commissioning of Security Systems (Lenel, Genetec, Software House, Avigilon, CCURE)
Security Manufacturer / Product Certifications.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Active OSHA 10 preferred.
Scissor / Boom Lift Certification preferred.
Physical Requirement : Must be able to work on a ladder and / or scissor lift, in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and move up to 75 pounds. Ability to work on your feet for entire shift.
Tools : Basic Hand Tools : screwdriver (multi-Bit), tape measure, snips, pliers (needle nose and channel locks) , punch down tool, flashlight, work boots (steel toe or composite toe) gloves and tool pouch.
