L4 Data Center Technician
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced
Level 4 Data Center Technician
to join our IT operations team. This role is critical to maintaining and enhancing the performance of our data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in
GPU/server/network break-fix ,
rack deployment , and
cabling , along with strong leadership and project coordination skills.
Shift Options
A Side: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday
B Side: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday
Key Responsibilities Deployment & Installation
Land and install fully populated GPU/network racks, including:
Rack movement, baying, leveling, grounding
Hot-air containment and overhead cable tray setup
Interpret BOMs to verify material completeness
Rack and stack equipment, patch copper/fiber cables
Install and label copper and fiber infrastructure (Cat5, Cat6, SM/MM/MPO)
Handle and install optical modules (SFP, QSFP)
Scope and clean fiber connectors (SC, LC, MPO)
Break-Fix & Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve hardware issues across servers, GPUs, and network components
Replace faulty parts and manage returns to vendors
Update firmware and configure IPs/login credentials
Support network admins with cabling, optics, and server/switch configurations
Operational Support
Perform tasks across Level 1-3 technician scope as needed
Manage ITSM tickets and ensure timely resolution
Audit servers and consumables
Document progress using MS Office and customer tracking tools
Ensure compliance with safety and data center standards
Leadership & Project Management
Lead and coordinate build activities
Review and validate build documentation
Provide thought leadership and ensure alignment with data center standards
Manage multiple concurrent projects under high-pressure conditions
Communicate status updates to project managers
Qualifications
10+ years of data center deployment and break-fix experience
Proven expertise in GPU/network rack deployment
Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling (copper, fiber, routing, dressing, connectors)
Experience with optical modules and fiber cleaning
Familiarity with DC power systems and equipment
Effective team leadership and workload prioritization
Excellent documentation and communication skills
Experience in Microsoft data center environments
Understanding of telecom engineering designs for enterprise data centers
Willingness to travel as needed
Top Skills
7+ years of hands‑on data center technician experience (break/fix, deployment, troubleshooting)
GPU deployment experience (strongly preferred)
Hardware installation and cabling expertise
Pay & Benefits Pay range: $46.20 - $46.20/hr.
