The role We are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Senior Research Associate, or Associate Scientist, to join the Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) team.
The candidate will enjoy hands‑on laboratory benchwork and bring scientific rigor and intellectual curiosity to the production of nucleic acid therapeutics.
They will work cross‑functionally with internal teams and external labs to advance the FL87 platform and contribute to a fantastic opportunity to work with leading‑edge, dedicated, and innovative scientists in the industry.
Key responsibilities
Produce and characterize nucleic acid therapeutics.
Synthesize and purify routine nucleic acid products for preclinical studies.
Operate and maintain lab instruments such as Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography (AKTA) system, Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) system, biosafety cabinets (BSC), nanodrop, pH meters, and incubators.
Prepare buffers for purification.
Assist in establishing and optimizing nucleic acid manufacturing scale‑up capabilities.
Perform routine analytical and bioanalytical tasks such as HPLC, fragment analysis, UV, and fluorescence.
Maintain up‑to‑date records and communicate results with team members through written technical reports and oral presentations.
Interpret, summarize experimental data, and keep detailed laboratory notebooks.
Qualifications
BS with 1‑5 years, or MS with 1‑3 years of academic or industry experience in nucleic acid manufacturing.
Attention to detail, multitasking ability, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong record‑keeping and data management skills.
Adaptable, eager for new challenges, naturally curious, and passionate about learning.
Experience working in fast‑paced startup environments.
Excellent organization skills and an efficient approach to tasks.
Ability to analyze, summarize, and communicate scientific data.
Ability to work independently while effectively engaging and collaborating within a team environment.

Salary & Benefits Compensation for this role commences at a base range of $81,000 – $107,250, depending on qualifications, skills, and experience.
