Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing advanced accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and integrity in the company’s financial records, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role will serve as a key resource for financial reporting, compliance, and process improvements, while providing guidance to junior accounting staff.

Primary Responsibilities

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

Track and analyze program costs, work-in-progress (WIP), and project margins for aviation integration projects.

Ensure the accuracy of reporting inventory raw material, finished goods and work in process and manage monthly cycle counts.

Monitor, analyze, and report on general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Ensure compliance with applicable tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate and support internal and external audits, providing requested documentation and explanations.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations.

Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions as needed.

Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Mentor and provide guidance to accounting staff, fostering professional development.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

Proficiency in ERP / accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar) with a preference for Global Shop Solutions experience.

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Excellent communication skills and must be customer service oriented.

Ability to perform work independently and as part of a team.

Must be available for occasional weekend and after-hours work.

Ability to read, write and speak the English language.

Must pass background verification, pre-employment drug testing, and submit to company's Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program.

Must be able to pass a TSA / CVG background check to obtain and maintain TSA / CVG badging.
