Emergency/Urgent Care Technical Coordinator (ANML HEALTH TCHN 2 VMTH)

Under general direction of the Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Supervisor, the majority of this position will involve acting as a technical coordinator for the ECC and Urgent Care Services. The role facilitates scheduling of ECC and Urgent Care patients for appointments, answers client phone calls to determine if their pet requires emergent or urgent care, and facilitates transfer of cases to referring veterinarians when clinicians are not available. The coordinator also provides paraveterinary technical support to the Small Animal ECC and Urgent Care Veterinarians.

Minimum Qualifications Must possess a Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) or obtain within 3 months of hire. No minimum education requirement. Experience working in a Small Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant. Experience with animal restraint and blood draws. Experience communicating with clients and referring DVM. Interpersonal communication and customer services skills. Preferred Qualifications Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license. Experience in a small animal emergency or urgent care setting. Strong organizational skills.
