Description The Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst is a seasoned cybersecurity professional responsible for analyzing, producing, and integrating cyber threat intelligence to enhance an organization's defensive security posture. This role involves maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the threat landscape, prioritizing adversaries and their tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and providing actionable intelligence to support security operations and incident response.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze, produce, and integrate cyber threat intelligence to improve the organization's defensive security posture.
Author and maintain the organizational Cyber Threat Profile and Intelligence Requirements.
Prioritize adversaries and TTPs relevant to the mission and digital footprint, and recommend/implement appropriate mitigations and detections.
Enumerate and validate the security of the organization's internet-facing attack surface.
Provide intelligence support and investigative expertise for priority incidents and fast-turn projects.
Conduct defensive cyber analysis to detect and investigate anomalous activity on networks.
Leverage intrusion detection systems, security event and incident management tools, large data sets, and packet capture for insights and to generate defensive measures.
Utilize threat hunting methodologies, the Cyber Kill Chain, and the MITRE Telecommunication&CK framework to contextualize investigations and inform future detection strategies.
Required Skills / Education / Certifications & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of experience in cyber threat intelligence analysis.
Proficiency in leveraging intrusion detection systems and security event and incident management tools.
Experience with large data sets and packet capture analysis.
Familiarity with threat hunting methodologies.
Knowledge of the Cyber Kill Chain and MITRE Telecommunication&CK framework.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Skills
Experience in a federal or defense sector environment.
Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., GIAC certifications, CISSP).
Experience with a variety of security tools and platforms.
