Transform at JLL as a Health, Safety, Security & Environment SME Location: Client Campus in Webster, NY 14580

Work Schedule: Hybrid, Monday-Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (2 days working onsite in Webster)

Travel Requirements: up to 30% with local travel to client sites across NY state

Reports to: HSSE Vertical Group Lead

Additional Perks: hybrid work model, 7.5% annual salary bonus, company provided cell phone, laptop, Flex PTO, & travel reimbursement

Estimated compensation for this position is: $80,000 - $90,000 annually. The compensation range listed is an estimate and not guaranteed. A salary offer will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.

What this job involves As the

Health and Safety Specialist , you will implement and manage Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) initiatives for a key JLL Work Dynamics account. Your primary mission is to foster a culture where JLL employees are SAFER every day, whether in the workplace or beyond, while balancing compliance and collaborating effectively with the client.

Reporting Structure

Direct report to the Tech Division HSSE Senior Director

Day-to-day accountability to the JLL Client Account Director

Regular performance reporting to the Account Leadership team

Key stakeholders include regional Operations, Engineering, Risk & Compliance, Finance, HR, Projects, and Client Corporate Real Estate Team leads.

Responsibilities

Provide timely, relevant information and expert counsel on HSSE matters to critical stakeholders

Identify and mitigate HSSE risks proactively

Deliver world-class HSSE results, enhance productivity, and ensure flawless execution

Contribute to JLL's Divisional HSSE strategy development

Spend significant time on client sites and travel as needed to effectively lead the HSSE team

Implement Global and Regional Work Dynamics HSSE strategic objectives

Manage and reduce operational risks across the account

Provide technical advice on HSSE issues and legislative changes

Identify improvement opportunities and cost‑effective solutions

Manage performance KRIs aligned with client expectations

Ensure compliance with legal requirements and Client Risk Control Standards

Manage incident and accident investigations

Implement effective HSSE communication plans

Use leading indicators to determine site risk, develop improvement plans

Client Relationship Management

Nurture relationships with the client HSSE team

Drive annual planning to exceed client expectations

Establish best‑in‑class service delivery standards

Identify and implement growth opportunities

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in OHS (HSSE), Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience

Minimum 2+ years of experience in HSSE, facility and operations leadership

Proven track record in developing and implementing strategic operating plans

Strong team building and leadership abilities

Excellent multitasking and delegation skills

Impactful communicator with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Crisis management expertise

Proficiency in relevant computer applications and digital tools

Management system development, implementation, and auditing experience

Experience managing large, global, multi‑cultural teams

Agile approach to leadership and stakeholder management

Strong cultural awareness and ethical standards

Travel 30-40%

Ability to train tough audiences

Preferred Skills and Experience

GSP, ASP, working towards a CSP, CHMM, or CIH

Masters Degree in Occupational Safety and Health

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
