Job Description At Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), we are building the next generation of AI applications that transform how enterprises get work done. The Oracle Chat Experience is one of our flagship initiatives — an intelligent, multi-agent system that enables professionals across business functions to interact, reason, and co‑create with AI.
As a Principal Software Developer, you will take ownership of designing and delivering significant features across multiple components of this product. You will work closely with applied scientists, product managers, and engineers across domains to translate complex ideas into scalable, reliable, and secure systems. This role blends hands‑on development with technical leadership. You will drive technical design decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure the team delivers features that are both high‑quality and operationally robust.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
5+ years of professional software development experience, including experience leading design and delivery of complex systems.
Strong coding and system design skills in Python, Java, or Go.
Strong understanding of cloud‑native architectures, distributed systems, and observability.
Proven ability to lead technical projects and collaborate effectively across functions.
Demonstrated success mentoring other engineers and fostering technical excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with LLM‑powered systems, agentic frameworks, or AI workflow orchestration.
Familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent.

Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of end‑to‑end features within the Oracle Chat Experience, spanning backend services, model orchestration, and user‑facing experiences.
Collaborate with applied scientists to integrate reasoning, retrieval, and multi‑agent coordination into production systems.
Define and drive technical direction for key feature areas, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security in cloud environments.
Mentor and guide engineers through design reviews, architecture discussions, and operational best practices.
Partner with product managers and program managers to balance innovation with delivery timelines and quality goals.
Contribute to continuous improvement in development practices, observability, and on‑call operations.
Benefits and Compensation US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 - $223,400 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
