Job Description Job Description The Production Planner is responsible for managing the end-to-end planning and coordination of daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for mouthwash and toothpaste product lines. This role ensures that manufacturing runs efficiently, resources are optimized, and customer orders are fulfilled on time while maintaining high-quality and compliance standards. The Production Planner works closely with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), to balance supply and demand while minimizing costs and lead times. Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Scheduling Develop and maintain the master production schedule (MPS) based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and production capacity. Plan and release daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for all oral care manufacturing lines (blending, filling, packaging). Track and adjust schedules to manage bottlenecks, raw material shortages, equipment downtime, and demand fluctuations. Material & Inventory Coordination Ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging, and semi-finished goods to meet production goals. Partner with procurement and warehouse teams to maintain optimal inventory levels. Support new product introductions (NPIs) and pilot batches in coordination with R&D and formulation teams. Capacity & Resource Optimization Forecast manpower, equipment, and utilities needs based on planned volumes. Identify and address capacity constraints through overtime, shift changes, or subcontracting. Review OEE and efficiency data to inform scheduling decisions. Process & System Management Maintain accurate planning data in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.). Generate and analyze reports for production attainment, schedule adherence, and material consumption. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, reduce waste, and improve flexibility. Compliance & Quality Support Ensure plans align with GMP, ISO, FDA, and other regulatory standards. Coordinate with QA/QC for batch releases, quality holds, and validation activities. Maintain proper documentation for traceability and audit readiness. Cross-Functional Communication Serve as the main contact between production and commercial teams for order fulfillment. Participate in S&OP meetings, providing insights on capacity, inventory, and risks. Support launch planning and pilot production for new oral care products. Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Chemistry, or a related field. Experience: 3–7 years of production planning experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (FMCG, pharmaceutical, or personal care ). Experience with liquid and paste manufacturing-especially oral care (mouthwash, toothpaste)-is highly desirable. Technical Skills: Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, JD Edwards). Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis). Familiarity with batch blending, tube filling, bottling, and packaging processes. Soft Skills: Strong organizational and analytical abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving mindset with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Qualifications APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
