It’s flexible, multi-asset mandate and broad investment universe enables its 50+ seasoned management team to invest across asset classes, geographies, currencies and securities. The team employs a research-intensive approach that combines fundamental, bottom-up security selection within a risk-controlled top-down asset allocation investment process. Strong interaction and knowledge-sharing exists among the BlackRock Global Allocation team, in addition to using BlackRock’s worldwide resources for investment ideas, fundamental analysis, technology, and risk analysis. Blackrock’s Global Allocation Team is seeking a candidate with deep engineering expertise to provide technical opinions on innovative, emerging technologies in the aerospace and defense sectors, including propulsion and satellite communications and orbital systems. Key Responsibilities: • Evaluate new technologies by conducting risk and feasibility analyses for new and next-generation applications across propulsion, satellite architecture, and defense technology. • Translate complex technical concepts into actionable investment insights. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies into existing and future investment opportunities. • Serve as a resource for, and share information with, other investment professionals at BlackRock. Knowledge/Experience: • Proven experience in aerospace engineering, defense technology, or satellite systems (minimum 7 years). • Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. PhD preferred. • Strong understanding, including of regulatory frameworks, of aerospace and related sectors. • Ability to identify key investment issues and assist more experienced investors with analyzing the technical opportunities and risks in a given deal. • Enthusiastic, proactive self-starter who is internally motivated to evaluate a broad range of opportunities. • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$155,000.00 - USD$210,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
